Our Top 10 Treatments For Softening Fine Lines & Wrinkles | Ashby De La Zouch

Here at Aeternum Aesthetics, Ashby De La Zouch we offer a vast array of aesthetic treatments for the softening of fine lines and wrinkles, and you know what, for some, you will be pleased to hear it’s not all injectable treatments.  I will give you an explanation of each treatment, starting with the least invasive and working up to the most invasive.

LED Light

We use the Dermalux Flex in clinic to provide LED Phototherapy treatments.  This treatment is entirely pain-free and very relaxing.  Treatment times vary from 20-30 minutes.  LED Phototherapy is the application of specific therapeutic light wavelengths which energise our cells to accelerate natural regeneration and repair processes without discomfort or downtime. Proven results for ageing and acne to psoriasis and pain relief. An essential skin health treatment too.  The light is a canopy that is placed over the face.  It is clinically proven that light of red, blue and near infrared are delivered through single wavelength LED’s to ensure targeted light delivery into the skin.  Your practitioner will choose which light/light combination is required based on your skin concerns.  A course of treatments is recommended.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning uses a surgical blade to gently remove the vellous hair (peach fuzz), terminal hair and, most importantly, the dry dead skin.  It’s a great method of exfoliation.  After treatment skin looks more healthy, gives you the “glow”, and appears tighter hence smoothing out fine lines.  This treatment is perfect for the maintenance of healthy skin or a special treat if you have an event or an occasion that you need to attend.  Whilst it smooths and softens fine lines and wrinkles, the exfoliation supports the penetration of skincare and your makeup looking flawless and on point.

Radio Frequency

Our 3JUVE Radio-frequency Skin Tightening uses Radio Frequency energy to gently heat the skin with the purpose of stimulating cutaneous collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin.  The 3JUVE machine delivers Radio Frequency energy into the deeper dermis of the skin.  This heats the skin tissue to a temperature of 40 to 42 degrees and, in doing so, causes trauma to existing aged and brittle collagen. Fibroblasts are then triggered (fibroblasts are the connective tissue cells that produce collagen and elastin). This, in turn, increases the production of new collagen and elastin fibres. This results in a tightening and plumping of the skin’s appearance.  This treatment is a pleasant and painless experience. Following a cleansing of your skin we apply a coupling gel to the area being treated. This allows connectivity between the Radio Frequency machine and your skin. We divide your face and neck into 5 sections and treat each section individually. You will feel a warming sensation as the device passes over each section of your skin. Once your skin is heated to 40 degrees we maintain the warmth for a further few minutes before moving on to the next section.

Chemical Peels

When we mention chemical peels this usually scares people.  Why? Because it brings up visions of faces shedding, like their skin actually coming off, and looking like a character from a horror movie! When this is very much not the case.  Peels come in differing strengths, dependent on the type of acids and ingredients it contains.  Most chemical peels are superficial in strength, meaning you will experience some mild redness and flaking of the skin, similar peeling to sunburned skin when it dries.  This is not to say that milder peels don’t work, usually, a course is required for optimum results.  We use AlumierMD peels and home skincare and The Perfect Peel in clinic here at Aeternum Aesthetics in Ashby De La Zouch.  Our AlumierMD peel can also be combined with dermaplaning another treatment previously mentioned here.  Not only can chemical peels improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles they can also address other skin concerns for example improving the colour, tone and texture, stimulating new collagen and healthy skin growth and helping to reduce/clear breakouts.  Chemical peels are pain-free, some clients experience mild tingling or warming of the skin when the peel solution is applied to the face, but this usually subsides after a couple of minutes.

You will hear aesthetic professionals talk about downtime after a peel, but what does this actually mean? I’ll explain, the downtime is the recovery time after having a peel.  This is typically 5-14 days dependent on the strength of the peel.  During the downtime your skin goes through different stages of change, from feeling dry, to having redness, and mild flaking/peeling of the skin.  These stages eventually lead to glowing tightened skin, softening those lines and wrinkles.

Fractional Laser

This treatment resurfaces the skin. Using an Er:YAG Laser in a fractional array to create tiny microspots of ablation on the skin, resulting in dramatic skin renewal.  This process retexturizes the skin for maximum smoothness, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, tightening pores and erasing irregularities.  Downtime for this treatment is 7 days, you may experience some redness, warming of the skin, dryness and flaking.  A course of treatments is required for optimum results.

Profhilo

Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity.  With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) it is not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue, softening fine lines and wrinkles.  Although the majority of dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, Profhilo is not a dermal filler as there is no cross-linking of the hyaluronic acid.  Profhilo is injected into the skin in a specific pattern depending on the area being treated.  Two treatments are required 4 weeks apart.  The first treatment is to stimulate and the second treatment is to boost results and ensure longevity.

IPRF

i-PRF (Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin) is the next generation of PRP.  This advanced form of platelet-rich plasma does not use anticoagulants or other chemical-based additives, therefore, it offers a completely natural treatment to improve volume loss, photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, poor skin texture and even hair loss.  To perform an i-PRF treatment we use the patient’s own blood plasma, enriched with: Platelets (a source of healing proteins and growth factors), Fibrin (the wound healing and regeneration matrix), Stem Cells (the conductors of our body’s own healing and regeneration molecules).  When we inject the plasma, this results in the activation of accelerated healing and regeneration. This means that the body’s own regenerative properties are concentrated and focused on the areas treated.  And if that isn’t enough, i-PRF also intensifies the functioning and reproduction of cells which means the results are not only long-lasting but accumulative and, therefore, continue to improve over time.  i-PRF Skin Rejuvenation Therapy, also sometimes referred to as the ‘Vampire Facial’ or ‘Vampire Facelift’ is a non-invasive procedure with little to no downtime.  The benefits of i-PRF facial rejuvenation have led to widespread interest in its use for both anti-ageing and regenerative purposes.

The Platelet-Rich Fibrin that we inject back into the skin has amazing rejuvenating qualities bringing back youthfulness and brightness to the skin.  In addition, the growth factors released, will attract stem cells encouraging the body to continue the rejuvenating process long after the treatment is complete.  An i-PRF Vampire facial treatment will: Improve skin texture, reduce dark circles, add volume to the skin and reduce fine lines, treat acne and/or rosacea, aid wound healing, brighten the complexion, tighten, plump and reduce the appearance of open pores, bring back firmness, elasticity and brightness in as little as 24 hours.  We recommend a course of 3 treatments as a minimum (at 4-week intervals).

HArmonyCa

We are one of the first clinics to have been trained in the application of HArmonyCa in the UK and we are excited to be adding it to our portfolio of treatments.

HArmonyCa which is a NEW and revolutionary hybrid injectable filler that, not only, provides an immediate volumising effect but also stimulates collagen growth long after treatment has completed.  This treatment works particularly well for the fine lines and wrinkles around the cheek and ear area.  Results are immediately visible but continue to improve after time.

Anti-wrinkle injections

This is one of our more popular treatments. Botox is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles in targeted areas.  Mainly the frown (glabellar) Forehead (Frontalis) and Crows Feet (Orbicularis Oculi).  Botox works by temporarily targeting the signal to the muscle on movement. Targeting the muscle blocks the signal for contraction, therefore the wrinkle does not form.  Botox can be used as a preventative measure for fine lines and wrinkles and also as a direct treatment to target existing lines and wrinkles.

PDO Threads

And, finally, treatment number 10.  PDO threads bridge the gap between Non-Surgical Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery.  We are pleased to say that Aeternum Aesthetics, Ashby De La Zouch is registered with the Care Quality Commision(CQC) enabling us to offer this treatment to our clients.

PDO threads are an effective method of treating the signs of ageing. They will give you a naturally refreshed appearance with a duel lifting and regenerating collagen effect. The absorbable cosmetic sutures work by gently lifting the skin to give you a more youthful contour whilst they also act as a bio-stimulator for collagen production.  They are suitable for both the face and neck addressing those fine lines and wrinkles.
