We’ve all heard about the Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Flawless Filter’ but we have a better option! So put away the make up and put away the Instagram filters. The IllumiFacial at Aeternum Aesthetics in Ashby de la Zouch is the next generation of Photo-Facial skin treatments to give that flawless filtered look we all crave.
This is by far my favourite treatment to perform at the minute. The results have been absolutely outstanding with happy clients all round. It’s the perfect winter treatment to get your skin in perfect condition.
The IllumiFacial facial is the ideal treatment to target skin rejuvenation, pigmentation, sun damage, general redness, rosacea, veins, and acne. Combining Medical IPL Technology, Specialist Skincare and Dermalux LED Light Therapy it targets different lesions on the skin using different wavelengths resulting in a more even skin tone and a clearer, glowier complexion.
Pigmented Lesions:
We can treat pigmented including freckles, age spots, sebaceous keratosis and sun damage. The pigmented colour will absorb the light and convert it into heat destroying the excess melanin. After treatment the pigmented lesions will darken and form a micro-crust which will peel away within a week leaving the pigmentation lighter or removed.
Vascular Lesions:
IPL can treat anything vascular within the skin. For example, rosacea, facial thread veins, spider nevi, port wine stains and even superficial leg veins. The IPL delivers enough energy to destroy the blood vessels through a process known as thermo-coagulation. The damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and usually little or no trace of the vein will remain.
Acne:
IPL treats acne by heating up overactive sebaceous glands and reducing the amount of sebum produced. The gentle heating from the IPL promotes fibroblast activity which stimulates collagen. This can also reduce mild acne scarring and accelerate the healing process. The IPL will also calm the skin and help to reduce any redness and sensitivity on the skin so it’s a great all-round treatment for acne.
The 5 step IllumiFacial incorporates:
- Cleanse – This involves a deep cleanse using a specialist formulation to remove impurities.
- Tri-Fruit Acid Peel – This is a mild chemical acid peel left on the skin for 5 minutes. This will remove any surface dead skin to let the IPL penetrate deeper for better results.
- IPL – This works by stimulating collagen and targeting any discolouration within our skin providing clearer, brighter and firmer skin.
- Dermalux Light Therapy – 20 minutes of relaxation using Red LED to stimulate the skins healing process and Blue LED to help clear the skin of acne.
- Hydrate & Protect – A trio of serums will be applied to your skin post IPL to soothe, hydrate and protect the skin.
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on your skin concerns we usually say anything between 2 and 4 treatments for optimal results.
How will my skin look after an IllumiFacial?
Your skin may look slightly flushed post treatment but this usually subsides after a couple of hours. Pigmentation will look darker instantly after the treatment. This is a really good sign and over the following week it will gently crust away. Veins potentially disappear straight away. The body will then break the veins down over the following couple of weeks.
How long will the treatment take?
For the full IllumiFacial you will be with us for approximately one hour.
What does the treatment feel like?
The IPL itself feels like an elastic band being pinged on the skin. This is only whilst the IPL is being performed, after the treatment the skin may feel slightly warm but we cool and soothe the skin post IPL for maximum comfort.
Am I suitable for the IllumiFacial?
Treatment is suitable for anyone concerned with congestion, discolouration, redness and visible signs of ageing.
