What are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are highly-purified DNA molecules extracted from fish. When we inject them into the skin, they reach the cells called fibroblasts. These cells are responsible for the formation of connective tissue through their ability to produce collagen, which helps maintain the skin’s firm structure. As we age, collagen production declines, which is why our skin gets saggy and more wrinkled. Polynucleotides stimulate the fibroblasts to produce more collagen, leading to firmer, smoother skin.

In the world of aesthetics and regenerative medicine, Polynucleotides are harnessed for their remarkable rejuvenating properties.

Polynucleotides FAQs

Before you undergo treatment, we will cleanse the skin and then apply a numbing cream to reduce any discomfort. We will then administer lots of tiny injections into the area being treated.

For best results, we advise 3 to 4 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart.

Absolutely! Polynucleotides are known as a ‘skin primer’, meaning they can prepare the skin and make it more receptive to treatments like laser, radiofrequency, dermal fillers, chemical peels, microneedling, and even surgery.

If used afterwards, Polynucleotides can further enhance results and keep skin looking good for longer.

Polynucleotides can be used to treat all areas of the skin, both face and body:

  • They can effectively reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks on the body.
  • They have anti-inflammatory properties meaning they can help skin conditions such as roseacea.
  • They accelerate tissue repair meaning they can improve the appearance of sun damaged skin, acne scarring and other skin imperfections.
  • They enhance the skins hydration by putting moisture back into the skin resulting in a more hydrated and glowing complexion.
  • They are collagen stimulators and can be used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as having a plumping and smoothing effect on the skin.
  • They can improve the condition of the scalp and hair quality, being clinically proven to regenerate hair follicles.

Following treatment with Polynucleotides you can expect your skin to be firmer, smoother and more radiant. You’ll notice a more even skin tone that looks younger and fresher!

It takes time for the collagen to get to work, so you can expect to see initial results three weeks after your first treatment. Best results will be noticeable after you’ve completed your course of treatments and will last 9 to 12 months. We recommend a one-off maintenance treatment every 3 to 6 months after completing a course.

Our team are looking forward to welcoming you to the clinic soon.
