Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

What is Premenstrual Syndrome?

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is the name given for the symptoms many women experience in the one or two weeks before their period. Some women suffer more than others and symptoms vary from person to person.

What are the common symptoms of PMS?

Symptoms may include:

  • Breast tenderness
  • Weight gain
  • Bloating and/or cramping of the stomach
  • Back pain
  • Low mood and/or mood swings
  • Irritability
  • Headaches/menstrual migraine
  • Increased hunger

How can the symptoms of PMS be treated?

At Aeternum Aesthetics, we can provide effective treatment of PMS with bioidentical hormones. Before doing so, your symptoms are evaluated by our Specialist Nurse and a hormone profile blood test is performed during the second part of your monthly cycle. This helps us to establish whether there is an abnormal hormonal imbalance. If we discover that there is an abnormal hormonal imbalance then the relevant bioidentical hormones can be prescribed at a dosage tailored to your individual needs.

Not only do we create a bespoke treatment plan with tailored bioidentical hormones, but we also consider your overall health including nutrition and lifestyle. Your treatment plan is tailored exactly to your needs to achieve the optimum hormonal balance.

Our team are looking forward to welcoming you to the clinic soon.
