Adding Testosterone to your existing HRT regime

Testosterone is an important sex hormone for women as well as for men. It improves libido, gives an overall sense of well-being and also assists the body in maintaining bone strength and muscle strength.

During the perimenopause and menopause, levels of sex hormones begin to fall. Traditional HRT replaces the reduced levels of hormones called oestrogen and progesterone, but testosterone levels also reduce.

The NICE menopause guidelines state that women who are experiencing low sex drive should be offered testosterone where HRT treatment alone is not helping. If you are unable to access this alongside your existing HRT regime, then we can help.

The consultation for this service is shorter and focuses purely on the testosterone hormone levels. The cost of this consultation service is, therefore, also cheaper at £125

During consultation, we discuss your current symptoms as well as the possible benefits of adding testosterone to your existing HRT plan.

Following your consultation, diagnostic blood tests will be performed to determine your testosterone levels and a prescription will be raised thereafter.
